Changing Lives in Latin America (June 2003)
In Haiti, Satan's grip through witchcraft and voodoo is powerful. But Haitian Christians are praying for God to bring light to their nation. They have turned to the Bible League. We are translating Scriptures and training Christians who have a vision to reach their communities.

In Monterrey, Mexico, Christians are passionate about reaching 500,000 people with God's Word and bringing seekers into a relationship with Christ and His Church through this special project. These committed believers are almost at the half-way mark,having placed 227,000 New Testaments in the hands of seeking people and led 124,556 through a Bible study. "This is what we have been waiting for," says Pastor Munoz.


In the Dominican Republic, Kenia tried to start a church in a neighborhood filled with liquor stalls and prostitution houses. Residents made it clear that Kenia's "religion" was unwanted. Her efforts failed until she received Bible League training.

Today, the transformation of this neighborhood is dramatic. The liquor stalls and prostitution houses are gone. "Even those who don't come to church allow me to visit and have Bible studies in their homes," says Kenia.

Kenia's vision has extended to surrounding communities. "We want to start more churches in surrounding neighborhoods," she says. "We have trained the people, but we are waiting for God to supply the Scriptures."

God is using Kenia and others like her to take His Light into villages and barrios that have been spiritually dark for generations.
