Ukraine - Oleg
Upon high school graduation, one of Oleg’s teachers told him that he would be a nobody. Oleg was undecided about his future, but the Holy Spirit was already preparing his searching heart. Today he is making a difference in the community that once left him confused.

Oleg, a Bible League-trained church planter, has established a new church in a suburb of Kiev. Average Sunday attendance is 100 people—all from an unchurched background. More than 70 members meet regularly in 10 small group home Bible studies.

The challenge of evangelism in his area of 100,000 people is great. It has many high-rise
apartment buildings, and it’s hard to get to know people in them. “But even activity such as Christmas caroling is one way to break through those barriers,” he says.

“There are several approaches we use to open up to people. We ask them if they even know about God…People want answers to the moral and economic problems in our country. We tell them that the Bible addresses all these concerns, and that there is joy through reading and understanding it.”
